Im finally able to type.
Hello my Blog friends. Ok so it's been way too long. But honestly I haven't had 2 hands free to type since she came home. She is very high needs. Hee Hee! She has to be held all the time and only sleeps in our arms or in the bed with us. So needless to say we have our hands full.
But she is so cute and we love her to pieces.
She is going to be a wild one. She already has the holding her breath until she turns blue trick down if she doesn't get her way..Right away. I'm going to try to do better at keeping you all up to date every few days. I am returning back on tour this week. It should be interesting taking a 4 week old on a bus. I am dreading all the stuff I'm going to have to pack for her. I will be doing that tonight when Bryce gets home so he can babysit.
Big news last night...She rolled from front to back for the first time. We were so shocked that we made her do it twice. She is just so strong already. She will be crawling before we know it. Oh goodness! Well i promise it wont be so long again.

Adelaide Rose is Here!

She is finally here! I will be writing about her birth story soon when I have more time. She currently wants to feed every hour so needless to say I am staying busy and tierd.
I ended up going into labor on my own on Monday the 20th around 4pm. I ended up having her Tue the 21st at 1:29pm. She lost a lot of weight while in the hospital because we couldnt get her to eat until she was close to 48 hours old. She was down 1lb and had a touch of jaundice when we took her to see the Dr on Fri.
But when we went to weigh her at the Dr this morning she was up 10oz and jaundice was gone. Thank you Lord! So the non stop feedings and No sleep weekend paid off.
This picture of her was done when she was 1 day old by the hospital photographer. We were very happy with it. So here she is Adelaide Rose 7lbs 11oz 20 1/4th inches.
She is such a joy to be around.

Over due and impatient

Well I'm still pregnant and waiting for little Addie to decide to show up. It's been a very long week. The more time I have on my hands the less I want to do. So I'm not good at keeping myself busy.
She has to be running out of room in there because last week I woke up to a sharp pain in my chest. I went to the chiropractor thinking maybe I pulled something but he discovered that she had dislocated one of my ribs. Lovely!
He worked on me for about 20min and then asked me to take a deep breath in. It was worse. So he tried something else. Thank the Lord it worked and the pain was gone.
My Dr was shocked to see me this week for my 40 week appt. She was sure I would go into labor last week. Oh well she was wrong. I told her about my rib and she just laughed. I asked her how much she thought Adelaide weighed. She felt around my stomach and said "Oh about 8lbs". Ok I know babies gain a half a pound a week in the last month so of course I was thinking about if I make it to my induction date that's another half a pound. Oh goodness. At least I know she is going to have some healthy meat on her bones.
I tried almost all the natural methods for inducing labor in the past week. Obviously none of which have worked.
I ate Eggplant Parm like 4 days in a row. I have walked for 45 min at a time most days this week, ate spicy food and a few other things I'll spare you the details of.
I really hope to go into labor on my own but if not I will be induced next Wed the 22nd. So I know at the most I have only 5 more days to go. I will try and keep this blog up to date as the next few days roll on. Keep us in your prayers.

Busy Holiday Weekend
It's been a very busy weekend. On Friday my mom came over to help finish up cleaning and decorating the house. I don't know what I would have done without my mom these past few weeks. While Bryce has been busy doing the remodeling she has been cleaning up the construction mess and decorating along the way.
She picked out and bought everything for the new bathroom and put it all up for us. It looks great of course. She hung up all the picture frames I had in my closets up on the wall so that I would finally put pictures in them, (I'm working on that) Shampooed my carpets and cleaned all the floors. Oh and painted the new bathroom and the salon in the basement. My house has never been this clean.
So the house is all put back together but better than ever. Here are a few pics : ( Bryce built the vanity and did the mosaic tile top all by himself. I just picked out the sink)

Friday night my Brother in law, Huston had his Birthday party here at our house. It was great having friends together on a Friday night.
I promised Huston I wouldn't go into labor and have Adelaide on his birthday and take away from his day. I obviously was able to keep that promise.

Saturday the 4th we actually had no plans but Mom and Dad invited us to the house for some steaks. I can't pass up a home cooked meal at my parents. So we went there for a early dinner and then headed down town to a friends house to join some friends and family for the evening. It was raining off and on but we still got in the pool. Yes even I got in my maternity bathing suite and so enjoyed feeling weightless in the pool. I actually jogged around in the water thinking maybe that would help start labor. But well it didn't.

Today we had a great service at church. It was nice to have my family in town and off the road on a Sunday. Mom and Dad were with us this morning in church. Everyone at church is anxious for Addie to get here too. It's fun hearing every one's predictions on when she will arrive. Of course the members of the church softball team tell me I have to wait until tournaments are over on Friday because they need Bryce to play. So we will see. I'm ready for her to be here. At least I think I am.

Everything is coming together
Bryce and I spent all last week house sitting for my parents. They were on tour for 10 days to PA, NY and Maine. It was nice to be out in the country. It forced me to relax and not obsess about the house getting done in time. I was actually just flat out lazy. I laid on the couch with Mom and Dad's two dogs most of the days.
At times I felt guilty but was quick to tell myself that soon I would be very busy being a new mom and I should enjoy the opportunity to do nothing.
Well today I am back to my own house and I was up early cleaning away. Bryce finished up the plumbing in our bathroom tonight. I am so excited to have it done. It needs trim and a few finishing touches but for the most part... done. I will post some pictures tomorrow.
Speaking of pictures, Our camera decided to stop working last week. It's about 4 years old and the on and off button stop working. I took it to be fixed and they told me it was going to cost $140 and take 4 weeks. I don't have 4 weeks obviously. I priced some new ones just like the one we have but more mega pixels and it was $180 so for $40 more I could have a brand new one.
This is like the worst time to spend $180 but with Adelaide on the way we need a working camera now more than ever.
I got it in the mail today so when I get it charged up I'll take some new pics of the great job Bryce has done on the Bathroom.

4 weeks to go....
Well guess what???....We are still renovating. But things are coming together. Addie's nursery is all done. Mom and her BFF Sherry came over last night and helped put the shelves up in the closet. So now I have room to put all her cute clothes, shoes and blankets away. So if she were to come early at least her room and clothing are ready for her. Now the rest of the house not so much.

Like I said my mom's friend Sherry has come into town for 2 days to help with the house. They put up new curtains last night and today they are painting and cleaning up drywall mess in our new bathroom. I try to help here and there but they end up just telling me to pick up trash or go get them lunch. I feel so very helpless. That's why I'm blogging right now. I already picked up the trash.
This past weekend was my first weekend home on maternity leave. Although it was not relaxing it was still nice to be home. I spent Saturday packing our bags for the hospital so they are ready at any moment. I think I have thought of everything and probably more than I'll ever need. But it's nice to have it done and off my mind.
Sunday we went to see our little niece Alana be dedicated. It was very special and I'm so glad we got to be there. It will be neat to see Adelaide and Alana grow up together.

Nesting and Stressing

They say the "Nesting" phase kicks in about 2 to 3 weeks before you deliver. Well that stresses me out because mine has for sure kicked in this week which makes me realize how close I am to bringing my baby home. To say I feel unprepared is a understatement.
I'm so happy to be getting all this remodeling done now because it would be even harder with a baby in the house but it's stressful wondering if everything is going to be done, put back in place and cleaned up in time.
Bryce has been working for 5 days straight on the bathroom and it is looking great. He was putting grout on the tile last night until 11pm.
Poor Bryce is working so hard and I'm not any help because of my huge tummy and I'm sure I'm stressing him out with all my last minute freak outs about being a mommy.
Last night I decided to start washing the newborn baby clothes and bassinet sheets so at least those were ready , You know just in case I went into labor in the middle of the night. :) You see I was born 7 weeks early and my brother 3 weeks early so in my head even though I'm 5 weeks out it really could be any day.
While I was washing all those cute little pink clothes the thought hit me...."What if it isn't a girl? and I'm washing all these clothes that I now can' t take back if I need cute blue clothes instead."
This is just another example of how truly crazy I am right now. We had a 4D ultra sound done last month and I asked them to double check to make sure it was still a Girl and well they couldn't tell because She/He had it's hand between it's legs. So now in the back of my mind I am thinking there is always a possibility that the first ultra sound was wrong. The poor thing would be wearing Pink for months and have a Pink lady bug nursery. So I'm not going to wash anymore clothes just in case.
Today I'm going to measure her tiny little closet so I can go buy a closet organizer. I have no room for all her stuff in that little space.
As you can see by the picture

Her room is over flowing. So I'm hoping the organizer will help. But I'm thankful to have all the stuff that's for sure. Well it's back to Nesting and Stressing for now....

Progress is messy.
The guys (my brother Caylon and Bryce) are hard at work on tearing out the bathroom. This tile has been in here for over 40 years. Scary! It's not wanting to come out easy either. We have plastic up everywhere but the dust is pretty bad. I've been playing nurse. At one point they were both bleeding. This really should be taped for one of those DYI network shows.
I'm still not sure how exactly the blue tub is going to be taken out. That should be interesting to watch. I'm already thinking of all the work painting and putting everything back into place is going to be. I'm so huge and lazy these days I don't want to do anything. Well, I will keep you all posted on the progress. I'm off to my 34 week Dr appt. I've decided not to look at the scale when they weigh me this time. It makes me too depressed. Plus at this point I can't do anything about it really.

Getting ready to renovate ( some more)
Well it's Wednesday and I'm putting off cleaning out everything in our upstairs bathroom by writing this post. Bryce is getting ready to gut the bathroom and redo everything. Yes I have the easy part of the job but I'm finding being 8 1/2 pregnant makes getting dressed each day seem like a major chore.
I'm very excited to have a brand new bathroom soon though. We currently have a Blue tub from the 60's in there. Yuck!
Bryce just expanded our laundry room and I love it. It makes laundry not so horrible now. We still need to paint and lay flooring down but after that the whole down stairs will be done. Oh yeah and we have to recarpet or refinish our stairs. Not exactly sure what we are going to do with those yet. It's like once you start remodeling it never ends.
We have church tonight. ( a little side note...I'm so glad our church started Wed dinners. I love not having to try and have dinner ready and rush off to church anymore. Plus we get to spend time with friends) We work with the Youth group and our youth pastors are at camp this week so Bryce is speaking tonight. Of course he is a little nervous but I know he is going to do great. Can't wait to hear him.
Well, I'm going to start cleaning out all the cabinets and drawers and the closet in the bathroom. I'm hoping to throw away half of the stuff. I have to make room for baby's bath things.
