Everything is coming together

Bryce and I spent all last week house sitting for my parents. They were on tour for 10 days to PA, NY and Maine. It was nice to be out in the country. It forced me to relax and not obsess about the house getting done in time. I was actually just flat out lazy. I laid on the couch with Mom and Dad's two dogs most of the days.
At times I felt guilty but was quick to tell myself that soon I would be very busy being a new mom and I should enjoy the opportunity to do nothing.

Well today I am back to my own house and I was up early cleaning away. Bryce finished up the plumbing in our bathroom tonight. I am so excited to have it done. It needs trim and a few finishing touches but for the most part... done. I will post some pictures tomorrow.

Speaking of pictures, Our camera decided to stop working last week. It's about 4 years old and the on and off button stop working. I took it to be fixed and they told me it was going to cost $140 and take 4 weeks. I don't have 4 weeks obviously. I priced some new ones just like the one we have but more mega pixels and it was $180 so for $40 more I could have a brand new one.
This is like the worst time to spend $180 but with Adelaide on the way we need a working camera now more than ever.

I got it in the mail today so when I get it charged up I'll take some new pics of the great job Bryce has done on the Bathroom.

4 weeks to go....

Well guess what???....We are still renovating. But things are coming together. Addie's nursery is all done. Mom and her BFF Sherry came over last night and helped put the shelves up in the closet. So now I have room to put all her cute clothes, shoes and blankets away. So if she were to come early at least her room and clothing are ready for her. Now the rest of the house not so much.

Like I said my mom's friend Sherry has come into town for 2 days to help with the house. They put up new curtains last night and today they are painting and cleaning up drywall mess in our new bathroom. I try to help here and there but they end up just telling me to pick up trash or go get them lunch. I feel so very helpless. That's why I'm blogging right now. I already picked up the trash.

This past weekend was my first weekend home on maternity leave. Although it was not relaxing it was still nice to be home. I spent Saturday packing our bags for the hospital so they are ready at any moment. I think I have thought of everything and probably more than I'll ever need. But it's nice to have it done and off my mind.

Sunday we went to see our little niece Alana be dedicated. It was very special and I'm so glad we got to be there. It will be neat to see Adelaide and Alana grow up together.

My church threw me a Baby shower two weeks ago so I thought I'd share some pictures from that. It was great to see all my friends and family there. I was blessed with many things for the Baby.

Nesting and Stressing

They say the "Nesting" phase kicks in about 2 to 3 weeks before you deliver. Well that stresses me out because mine has for sure kicked in this week which makes me realize how close I am to bringing my baby home. To say I feel unprepared is a understatement.

I'm so happy to be getting all this remodeling done now because it would be even harder with a baby in the house but it's stressful wondering if everything is going to be done, put back in place and cleaned up in time.

Bryce has been working for 5 days straight on the bathroom and it is looking great. He was putting grout on the tile last night until 11pm.
Poor Bryce is working so hard and I'm not any help because of my huge tummy and I'm sure I'm stressing him out with all my last minute freak outs about being a mommy.

Last night I decided to start washing the newborn baby clothes and bassinet sheets so at least those were ready , You know just in case I went into labor in the middle of the night. :) You see I was born 7 weeks early and my brother 3 weeks early so in my head even though I'm 5 weeks out it really could be any day.

While I was washing all those cute little pink clothes the thought hit me...."What if it isn't a girl? and I'm washing all these clothes that I now can' t take back if I need cute blue clothes instead."

This is just another example of how truly crazy I am right now. We had a 4D ultra sound done last month and I asked them to double check to make sure it was still a Girl and well they couldn't tell because She/He had it's hand between it's legs. So now in the back of my mind I am thinking there is always a possibility that the first ultra sound was wrong. The poor thing would be wearing Pink for months and have a Pink lady bug nursery. So I'm not going to wash anymore clothes just in case.

Today I'm going to measure her tiny little closet so I can go buy a closet organizer. I have no room for all her stuff in that little space. As you can see by the picture

Her room is over flowing. So I'm hoping the organizer will help. But I'm thankful to have all the stuff that's for sure. Well it's back to Nesting and Stressing for now....

Progress is messy.

The guys (my brother Caylon and Bryce) are hard at work on tearing out the bathroom. This tile has been in here for over 40 years. Scary! It's not wanting to come out easy either. We have plastic up everywhere but the dust is pretty bad. I've been playing nurse. At one point they were both bleeding. This really should be taped for one of those DYI network shows.

I'm still not sure how exactly the blue tub is going to be taken out. That should be interesting to watch. I'm already thinking of all the work painting and putting everything back into place is going to be. I'm so huge and lazy these days I don't want to do anything. Well, I will keep you all posted on the progress. I'm off to my 34 week Dr appt. I've decided not to look at the scale when they weigh me this time. It makes me too depressed. Plus at this point I can't do anything about it really.

Getting ready to renovate ( some more)

Well it's Wednesday and I'm putting off cleaning out everything in our upstairs bathroom by writing this post. Bryce is getting ready to gut the bathroom and redo everything. Yes I have the easy part of the job but I'm finding being 8 1/2 pregnant makes getting dressed each day seem like a major chore.
I'm very excited to have a brand new bathroom soon though. We currently have a Blue tub from the 60's in there. Yuck!
Bryce just expanded our laundry room and I love it. It makes laundry not so horrible now. We still need to paint and lay flooring down but after that the whole down stairs will be done. Oh yeah and we have to recarpet or refinish our stairs. Not exactly sure what we are going to do with those yet. It's like once you start remodeling it never ends.

We have church tonight. ( a little side note...I'm so glad our church started Wed dinners. I love not having to try and have dinner ready and rush off to church anymore. Plus we get to spend time with friends) We work with the Youth group and our youth pastors are at camp this week so Bryce is speaking tonight. Of course he is a little nervous but I know he is going to do great. Can't wait to hear him.
Well, I'm going to start cleaning out all the cabinets and drawers and the closet in the bathroom. I'm hoping to throw away half of the stuff. I have to make room for baby's bath things.
